Welcome!
The Knitting Companion provides a range of products with the key objective of supporting the knitter and crocheter. Our Knitter’s Companion product range are a series of spiral bound workbooks designed to support your knitting or crochet.
We also provide a wide range of resources to help benefit you as you work through your knitting and crochet projects. We have our dedicated blog written by our founder and knitting enthusiast Janet Sigley, which discusses all aspects of knitting, including useful tips, tricks and other techniques. Our mindfulness section will teach you how the mindful philosophy can be incorporated in knitting and crochet practice.
Featured Product: The Knitter's Companion
Save valuable time with this useful workbook to plan and record your progress. This quality paper workbook, is printed on one side and spiral bound with a glossy cover. This enables it to lie flat as you knit.
Inside is an introduction and discussion of why the book / pad was designed – mainly to save time in the planning of knitting your project.
This avoids the need to write long rows of numbers by hand. Instead you have an A4 pad of 30 pre-printed pages for you to add your instructions. A ruler at the edge of each page saves you having to rummage about for your tape measure.
Useful information can be recorded at the front, with 2 types of graph paper – 5 sheets of each, to plan intarsia or fairisle projects, or to design your own garments. 2 pages of blank note paper are placed conveniently at the back.

Introducing our new Crocheter’s Companion
Following requests from our customers and friends, we are thrilled to announce that our Crocheter’s Companion is now complete. It has some new features that we are very excited about, such as a removable, laminated colour wheel to help you with your purchasing when considering choices of yarns. There is a yearly planner, a project record, and personal preference sheet for your podcasts, blogs, yarn shops, wool festivals, and workshops. We also have a hook conversion table and inventory, a stash record and a 3 minute mindfulness breathing exercise to help you to get into your zone to help you to gain maximum benefit from your craft.
This book has been compiled following discussion with Kathryn Senior of Crafternoon Treats podcast, who appealed to her viewers to make suggestions about what they would like in a crochet workbook/journal. (See below video) We are delighted with these responses and pleased to clarify that we managed to accommodate most of the suggestions. Further discussions with our dear friend, Karen Baker of facebook.com/craftsatpoppycottage who designed the project for the cover and offered guidance and encouragement throughout.
We must also acknowledge Lynne Rowe, author’s input. Lynne was very enthusiastic when she was first shown the first draft, and offered some pointers as to what would make it perfect for crocheter’s.
